WHAT IS IT? Pronation is the natural movement of the foot, whereby the foot “rolls” slightly, flattening the arches to distribute the weight evenly. It is your body’s natural shock absorber.
If you over-pronate, your foot rolls inwards more than it should, meaning that your weight is not being distributed evenly and shock is not absorbed as it should be. Often people that over-pronate will have “flat feet” or dropped arches. Over-pronating also means that the front of the foot at the big toe is working harder than it should.
Under-pronating (Supination) means your foot does not roll inwards enough so the weight is concentrated on a much smaller area on the outside of your foot. This movement puts extra stress on the Plantar Fascia, Achilles tendon, and IT Band which can lead to further injuries in these areas. Under-pronators tend to have high arches.
HOW CAN ENERTOR INSOLES HELP?
- 44% shock absorption – all Enertor insoles offer more shock absorption than any other insole, reducing repeated shock at foot contact.
- Improved arch support – Enertor Performance insoles offer arch support for both high and low arches assisting the body’s natural shock absorption function.
- Improved foot positioning – Enertor Performance insoles improve rearfoot positioning helping to reduce over and under pronation
